The First International Conference and Exhibition "Aluminium in Building and Construction" was held on October 12-14, 2004 in the Moscow Marriott Grand Hotel. The Conference is organized by the Russian Aluminium Extruders Association APRAL, the Moscow Representative Office of ALUSIL and the International Exhibition Company Ltd.

For the first time the International Specialized Aluminum Packaging Salon "Alumpack'2004" was held on June 14 - 18 within the framework of the country's largest packaging exhibition "Rosupack-2004". The organizers of the Salon are International Company Sokolniki, Moscow Representative Office of ALUSIL AG with the assistance of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry, European Aluminium Association (EAA) and European Aluminium Foil Association (EAFA).

The Second International Conference "Aluminium Recycling" will be held in the Moscow Marriott Grand Hotel from March 30 through April 1, 2004. The subject of the Second Conference includes: tendencies of aluminium recycling and its development outlooks in Russia and worldwide; new equipment and technologies for scrap sorting and preparation; equipment and technology for slag recycling; refractory materials for furnaces and chutes; state-of-the-art systems for aluminium scrap melting. A broad exposition of new equipment, efficient technologies, automatic control devices, state-of-the-art materials used in secondary aluminium production will be presented within the framework of the Conference "Aluminium Recycling".

The development of the improved technology for Al-Mg-Si rod continious extrusion is being held in accordance with the agreement with one of the extruders.

At the 5th World Congress "Aluminium-2000", held in Rome on March 18-23, 2003 and attended by 250 specialists of aluminium industry from 42 countries, M.Lokshin and G.Makarov presented a paper entitled "Priority Issues of technology and equipment modernization for Aluminium semi-product manufacture in Russia". The paper attracted much attention and interest.

At the Seminar "Collection and Recycling of Packaging" held during the work of the 6th Exhibition "Ural Upak-Etiketka. Ural Prod-Expo" on March 4-6, 2003, G.Makarov and M.Sirotinsky delivered a paper entitled "Current Issues of aluminium packaging recycling".

According to the Agreement with 3T Company (True Temperature Technologies) we are suppliers of pyrometers for remote temperature measurement. We also manufacture closed-loop management systems based on the use of the above-mentioned pyrometers.

At the International Conference “Metallurgy of Light Alloys at the turn of the century. Present Status and development strategy” held on September 3-6, 2001 in S. Petersburg, M. Lokshin, Alusil, and V. Borisov, JSC VAMI presented a paper entitled “Rolling Mill Upgrading and Ways of Expansion of High Quality Aluminum and Alloys Products Manufacture for Domestic and Foreign Markets”. The status of the Russian industry of aluminum semi-products and the ways to solve the problems in this area were discussed. The full text of the report will be available later.
