In March 29-31, 2006 the 3rd International Conference & Exhibition “Aluminium Recycling”, organized by Alusil-MVT and Aluminium Extruders Association (AEA), was held in President-Hotel, Moscow. Over 150 representatives from 119 companies of 25 countries of Europe, Asia, Northern America and Africa took part in the Conference. The most numerous foreign delegations were from Germany, USA, UK and France. The General sponsor of the Conference was Industrial Company “Vtormet” – one of the Russian leading producer of secondary alloys, the sponsor – the world known Austrian manufacturer of metallurgical equipment Hertwich Engineering GmbH.

The Conference program included the plenary meeting, presentations and Q&A at 5 sessions. Totally, 30 presentations simultaneously translated into English and Russian were made at the Conference. 8 papers introduced new technologies for scrap sorting and preparation for melting, manufacture of alloys from different scrap including the low-grade contaminated scrap, 10 papers were devoted to modern melting equipment and refractory materials for foundries, 4 papers described treatment of melt to remove the impurities, modification process, and the metal quality control, 4 papers covered the environmental issues and safety at the aluminium recycling process.
